Moon Manifestations
What are the major phases of the moon?
New Moons mark new beginnings and are the best time to kick off projects or plans. Start laying the foundation for what you want to see or achieve during the next six months (until the corresponding full moon). Set intentions or move into the action phase while you have the momentum of growth working with you.
Full Moons mark completion and totality. It’s a great time to celebrate your accomplishments and take stock of what’s working and what you want to change. The full moon can also trigger emotional responses and intensity.
Quarter Moons are the checkpoints. It’s a time to focus on what you need to balance, either waxing (growing) or waning (declining).
Why do we use the moon phases for manifesting or setting goals?
The moon has been associated with intuition, attraction, and manifestation. Egyptian and Celtic cultures are documented as using the lunar cycles as early as 300 BC.
How do you use the moon phases for goal-setting?
Long Term - Pick the new and full moon for the same sign; I think it’s particularly powerful to use one or all of your Big Three (Sun, Moon, and Rising); you can find the new moon of your sun sign near your birthday (solar return). It’s particularly intense if you can focus the goal around the sign’s strength, or find aspects of the sign’s strength to support the goals or plans.
Short Term - There’s a new and a full moon (in opposite signs) during each month, which provides great balance. Use the new moon to set intentions and start short-term projects, then check your progress at the full moon.
